Whirlpool Lays off 341 Employees From Its Iowa County Factory
Whirlpool announced it would cut 341 jobs from its Iowa County factory. The company previously reduced its workforce by 250 in July 2025, with more layoffs expected. An employee described how entire departments have disappeared in recent years, mentioning cuts to third shift, Line 6 and soon Line 4. Union leaders say over the last 20 years, Whirlpool has received at least $12.5 million in incentives in Iowa while investing more than $1 billion in facilities in Mexico.
